Two Bros Colorado Adventure
Vinny brought his Vstrom from Austin Texas after a family camp out with Kristin's family. I flew to Denver where I rented a Beemer which was a wonderful treat to ride. We traveled to the mountains immediately after loading up the bikes and ended up at Lost Lake where we camped and hiked.
The next day we took off on Magnesium Chloride packed roads to Montrose through many country and dual sport roads. We decided to make Montrose the base camp due to the Vstrom Rally and its central location to where we wanted to explore.
Explore we did. We traveled the Million Dollar Highway to a very dual sport ride location (probably more like motocross or atv at the high elevations) where we unfortunately suffered some damage to the bikes. Albeit cosmetically and minor, traversing through this was both exhilarating and punishment.
As if that was not enough we decided to take Bolam pass on our return. Also a challenging adventure with creek crossings, a huge bear, a bit of rain and exhaustion. This was a 10+ hour day. We crashed in our tents pretty soon after arriving at the campsite....
The next days were full of exquisite views, fresh mountain air and wonderful riding.
I hope you enjoy our pictures. Some might seem redundant, but they tell a little of our story.
